Welcome to Kiskaluh, a small space where art, illustrations, and handmade knitted products coexist.
✨ A New Chapter ✨
Kiskaluh is a new chapter of what was once Xivalandia.
We want to prioritize art, create with intention, and share it in the form of products that can accompany you in your day-to-day life: from knitted plushies and prints to stickers and illustrated zines.
Since our products are handcrafted, they are released in small batches whenever inspiration strikes, always in limited quantities and made with love!
Most of our creations are born and stocked first at our physical store in the port of Veracruz, Mexico, and then published here online.
✨ The Artisans ✨
Silvia is the artist behind the illustrations and also the creator of some of the crochet plushies.
Nestor crafts other crochet plushie designs and paracord accessories. He also handles the photography for our products.
We are very inspired by geek and gamer culture; we love video games and anime. When you buy something from us, you’ll know it has been made with love and attention to detail.

At Kiskaluh, we do things calmly, seeking to ensure that what is beautiful is also conscious and respectful.
✨🧸Small-Batch Production
We work at our own pace, creating in small batches to avoid overproduction and waste. This allows us to take care of our mental health, maintain the quality of each piece, and produce only what we can truly handle with care.
Materials are used to their fullest potential: leftover yarn becomes cords for gift tags or small details on plushies; we always try to give a second life to what might be considered "scraps."
✨🛍️Thoughtful Packaging
It matters to us that opening your order feels special and cared for. Whenever possible, we choose recyclable or compostable materials, but we also know that part of the experience is receiving something that looks beautiful and is well-protected. We seek that balance between aesthetics and conscience, without stressing over perfection.
✨🏝️Local Culture and Art
Our designs are inspired by elements of Veracruz and Mexico: the "camarón jarocho," axolotls, little skulls, seagulls, the beach, and the marine life that surrounds us. Through illustrations, prints, and short stories, we share themes related to nature and life in our port.
We also create illustrated short stories (zines) that discuss topics like the weather seasons in Veracruz, promoting learning through art and an appreciation for our local culture.
✨🧶Open Studio
At our physical store, we like to knit in front of the people who visit us. This way, they can see how the plushies and keychains are born and learn about the artisanal process behind each piece.
We also offer watercolor pet portraits, celebrating the emotional bond we have with our animal companions.
We want our space to be a place where art and community meet, showing that handmade work has value, time, and skill behind it.

We believe in calm, empathy, and kindness. Each piece is made from a peaceful place, looking after our mental and emotional health.

We love animals and nature—that is reflected in our illustrations of marine life, pets, and kawaii creatures. Our cat, Mochi, is part of the team and appears in our posts from time to time.
The watercolor pet portraits we offer at our physical store are born from that affection for animal companions and the special bond we have with them.
